Edmarla Schot, multitalent

Edmarla Schot is a true multitalens. She works on paper, digitally, and with textiles on the sewing machine. What makes her work special is that her unique style remains recognizable across all these techniques.

Edmarla is never short on inspiration. Her figurative work is colorful and narrative, exploring themes such as fairy tales, amusement parks, vacations, Surinamese cottages, and portraits. With just a few lines, she manages to imbue faces with great expression and character. She combines her vivid imagination with a disciplined approach: every morning, she works with focused concentration on her ever-expanding visual world.

She enjoys experimenting with collage techniques and life drawing, and also seeks inspiration outside the studio—for example, in harbors and museums. In this way, her work continues to evolve.
