A personal look at a special journey.

You’ve probably seen him at work with his camera at some point over the past year! Photographer Roland van Eck from the Herenplaats, who captures “Binnenweg-lopers” forever on film—with their verbal consent, of course.

With these photos, Roland aims to highlight the diversity of the “Binnenweg-lopers” as well as the wide variety of shops and outdoor cafes and the typical, cozy Binnenweg atmosphere. “In my opinion, the Binnenweg deserves to be put on the 010 map a bit more as a shopping district. That’s the idea behind my street photos,” says Roland.

Roland’s archive now contains a substantial number of “Binnenweg-lopers.” But they aren’t just sitting there hidden away. He’s considering how to share them with the public: digitally or in person.
