This year we once again attended the European Outsider Art Association meeting—and this time, not just as audience members. We had the opportunity to give a presentation ourselves about Herenplaats, our artists, their work, and its quality, and we welcomed more than 75 people to our studio!

The focus was on something we work on every day: the artists’ autonomy—the freedom to work based on their own vision, imagination, and talent, and to be recognized as artists. Having that conversation with an international audience remains both interesting and valuable.

All of this took place during the Art Brut Biennale in Hengelo, to which our artists are once again making a significant contribution this year.
