Elvira van Bronckhorst, 1991

From a young age, Elvira has shown a strong visual talent and perseverance. After obtaining her foundation year (propaedeutic diploma) at the art academy, her creative expression in art was put on hold due to circumstances. Gradually, she began experimenting again with different techniques.

In 2023, Elvira joined De Herenplaats. What started with some hesitation quickly became clear: “drawing feels like my breath, my reason for being.” Using a variety of materials, Elvira is able to fully immerse herself; she is fascinated by texture, structure, and form. She works conceptually, exploring a subject from every angle and developing the most interesting aspects further. Elvira creates intuitively, drawing from her own perception of the world and with a keen eye for detail.

For Elvira, De Herenplaats is a safe place that offers challenges and new opportunities. She especially experiences love in being together and meeting others, and she finds it important to enjoy the process of creating—“the journey towards it.” This environment gives her the opportunity to continue living her dream: to keep creating throughout her entire life.
