A Room With Teeth

For “A Room With Teeth,” the artist duo Mishmash was invited by Galerie Atelier Herenplaats in Rotterdam. Under the name Fine ART pop-up, they bring together artists in temporary exhibitions at varying locations.

Mishmash approaches an exhibition not as a collection of works, but as a spatial whole. Drawing on their experience in autonomous art and spatial commissions, they work with sightlines, rhythm, and interrelationships. Space is not a backdrop, but an integral part of the work.

Galerie Atelier Herenplaats collaborates with artists often categorized as outsider art. In A Room With Teeth, Herenplaats artists are presented alongside carefully selected guest artists. Different visual languages ​​coexist here without hierarchy. Visual power, not background, is the guiding principle.

The exhibition is clearly structured and creates a unique setting in which images reinforce and question each other. Two sculptural guardians mark the entrance. First, the image draws you in, then depth is created.

Stay a moment, the space doesn’t bite—but it doesn’t let go either.
